Annelinde Metzner has been composing music for more than twenty years, and has written poetry for more than forty years. She has composed for small to large instrumental ensembles, and from solo to choral works for voice. She has a special love for setting poetry by women, and recently composed and performed the song cycles "Mountain Moving Day" and "The Abundance of Mary" in Asheville, North Carolina. (CD's and DVD's are available for $15 each by contacting songs@annelindesanthems.com). Annelinde founded the Asheville community chorus, Womansong, which she directed for seven years. She has been a music teacher specializing in the Orff and Kodaly methods and currently improvises music for performances of Asheville Playback Theatre.
